¡Quiubo! Fernando de Miguel Fuertes here. I wrote and directed my first play at 13, which I staged with my siblings and cousins in Mexico City on Xmas eve in the year 2000. You do the math.

I’m a writer-director for screen and stage currently based in Sydney, Australia. I combine expertise in both the arts and social sciences to tell spicy stories. My work spans film and theatre projects across Mexico, China, Italy, and Australia. Working in Spanish, English, French, German, Italian and Mandarin Chinese, I favour innovative storytelling with impactful performances across genres and mediums. I’m particularly passionate about challenging conventions and offering fresh perspectives on familiar narratives.
